Kids love kickball. And kids love ice cream. Why not combine the two? Well, Hammacher Schlemmer, the famous mail-order catalog, did just that.

Unsurprisingly called The Kickball Ice Cream Maker, the ball is covered in soft rubber and has two compartments—one for ice cream ingredients, and the other for ice and rock salt.

All you have to do is throw in the cream, sugar, vanilla and other flavorings, then kick the ball around as you would on the playground. And after just 20 minutes of play: voila! The ball is ready to dispense fresh, cold ice cream.

Playtime will end with a nice frozen treat—and a large dose of calories to offset the exercise!

The company says the ball weighs less than 4 pounds and is the size of a volleyball, but I would stick to foot-based sports. I can't imagine trying to spike a block of ice cream would end very well. But either way, playtime will end with a nice frozen treat—and a large dose of calories to offset the exercise!
